PALMETTO, FL, April 27, 2004 – Peek Traffic Corporation and distributor Tassimco Technologies Canada have been selected by the City of Montreal Canada to supply 400 model 3000E traffic controllers and cabinets for the City’s control hardware upgrade program.

This is the first phase in which the City expects to replace nearly 1000 traffic controllers with more modern equipment such as that offered by Peek Traffic and Tassimco. Due to the phased approach of the installation, the new controllers must still operate with the older electromechanical controllers, some of which were installed fifty years ago.

Peek Traffic and Tassimco worked together to integrate Peek Traffic’s proven 3000E controller into a Tassimco-designed, compact “Central Business District” or CBD cabinet to meet the City’s unique needs. According to Conrad Di Pietro, Tassimco Vice President, “Thirty-two surrounding municipalities of Montreal will be eligible to purchase the control cabinets under the contract as well.” The control cabinets will be CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved and are currently undergoing the required CSA testing.
